Winter Trial Leg 5

After yesterday’s drama and a very late night we had what seemed an impossibly early start.

Now a bit further up the running order progress was a bit easier. The weather is now mild and a lot of the snow is melting but sitting on top of the ice making it like a skating rink. It’s safer in the car than on foot!

Snow covered regularities, where we had a small incident resulting in a couple of minutes stuck in the snow, went to our first ice lake test (great fun!) and then some muddy conditions later in the afternoon.

Another minor issue with the car was a not fully charging alternator. This had been ‘repaired’ by Bosch staff in Germany, but very badly, as the plug they diagnosed and fitted burnt. A few connectors and wires from Classic Jobs van made it all good again.

It’s the big day tomorrow with a long day and the infamous night loop. Traditionally we perform well on these but let’s see….
