Winter Challenge 2014 day 1

The weather was beautifully sunny and spring-like when we awoke in Troyes this morning. A very relaxed scrutineering session and final map check saw us depart just after 13.00. An easy first regularity led to an interesting but short test on a great kart circuit in glorious sunlight.

A time control in a tiny village brought out the locals with their eclectic mix of classics. My choice was the immaculate powder blue Peugeot 204. I think it would look great at home!
Another slightly more complicated regularity followed and an early finish in Chartres completed a nice relaxed day. Apparently there are no penalties to incur as there are the two starts and it can’t be made completely fair.

The competition starts in ernest after lunch tomorrow after we rendezvous with the UK starters at LeMans.
