Winter Trial 2013 prize giving

The hotel was a few kilometres away from Salzburg and we all went by coach to where the party started.
Frank Hussey gave a very funny speech recounting his eventful week with Frank Fennell. It started with a visit to a ditch and went downhill from there. An alternator failure, a gearbox problem, stiff steering caused by the battery cable getting wrapped around the steering column then a fire under the dash where the battery cable shorted out. However the made it to the finish and partied in typically Irish style.
The film crew put together a brilliant movie. How they find the time to edit and put music to the film so quickly is amazing!
In Barts characteristic way everyone was lead out into the freezing courtyard in foil ‘spaceblankets’ to be met by stilt walkers and an amazing opera singer.
The winning cars arrived in the courtyard at speed and we were treated to a display of car control by Bjørn in his Porsche. Fantastic fireworks concluded the outside show and we then had puddings and beer in ‘Bart’s Bar’. Another great finish to another great rally.
The two Franks, Fennell and Hussey celebrating finishing last!
