Dicking around in old boats!

Last Sunday we spent a splendid day out on the Thames near Henley in a friends 1939 Thames Slipper launch. The most beautiful hand made wooden boat with a 10hp petrol Ford engine.
Pausing (2hrs) for an extravagant picnic lunch at Marlow we traveled downstream through several locks as far as Cliveden and intended to be back before sunset..some hope, the river traffic was chaotic with everyone out in their boats for one last hurrah before the winter. Finally we left the marina after 8pm in total darkness…KFC for dinner on the way home.
